I have installed RH 7.1 on a NEC Versa SX, everything is working properly except for X I have edited XF86Config file and XF86Config-4 trying to get my display to work correctly, with no luck. Does anyone know what the specs are for this LCD? I have searched the web and even called NEC support and they couldn't give me the info I needed. This is all the info I've gathered: LCD 14.1'' TFT XGA Thin Film Transistor active matrix colour display. Built-in cold-cathode fluorescent tube (CCFT) backlight. 14.1" (35.8 cm) diagonal display area. 1024x768 pixels (XGA) resolution. Can display 262144 colours simultaneously. How do I figure out the Horizontal and Vertical Frequencies for this Display? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have you tried running Xconfigurator? That's always worked for me as long as my card was supported by XFree. It will allow you to enter your refresh rate, but I'd try to see if it can guess acceptable settings first. peter Magick Wizard wrote: > > I have installed RH 7.1 on a NEC Versa SX, everything is working properly > except for X > I have edited XF86Config file and XF86Config-4 trying to get my display to > work correctly, with no luck. > Does anyone know what the specs are for this LCD? > I have searched the web and even called NEC support and they couldn't give > me the info I needed. > This is all the info I've gathered: > LCD 14.1'' TFT XGA > Thin Film Transistor active matrix colour display. > Built-in cold-cathode fluorescent tube (CCFT) backlight. > 14.1" (35.8 cm) diagonal display area. > 1024x768 pixels (XGA) resolution. > Can display 262144 colours simultaneously. > > How do I figure out the Horizontal and Vertical Frequencies for this > Display? > > Any help would be greatly appreciated. > > Thanks

Thanks Peter, I have tried Xconfigurator and have tried every possible combination of refresh rates and displays with no success. If anyone could inform me of the refresh rates that work with this LCD Display and maybe a couple of modelines that are supported I could edit the XF86Config file manually.
