First: Hi all U ppl
Second: Excuse me for my bad english hehehhehe
[U can swap the First and Second items as U want ;o) ]
My goal is to install Win NT 4.0 Workstation in dualboot with a previous
Win'95 O/S on my dual PII Workstation.
I've tryed both starting setup under Win'95 and/or booting directly
from the NT CD.
In both cases - after a normal setup prompt - the setup lock in a blue
screen with this prompt:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----|
"Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Workstation [build 13andsomething]" |
"1 Processor (384Mb RAM) Kernel multiprocessor" |
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----|
I hear the SCSI HDD spinning for a lot.... and then...... nothing!!!!
The keyboard don't work.... and I must hard-reboot the sys.
The prob - for now - is not the correct dual proc recognition
(in many cases - reading a lot of newsgropus - after a complete
installation procedure and rebooting, NT recognize correctly
all the processors....We'll see ...)
The real prob.... now... is... "TO COMPLETE THE SETUP"!!!
THIS IS MY HW CONFIG:
-----------------------------------
-Processors: 2 Pentium II at 333Mhz
-Mainboard: Double Pentium II with APIC I/O module inserted
for dual process[or][ing] (the main board is from "Main Board"
?????
Yes.... I know... sure... is a unwellknowed cheap factory i
think...
but... i got no more money.... You know heheheheh)
The mainboard's switches are setted for the multi-proc job
-RAM: 3 x 128Mb (384Mb)
-HDD's: 2x EIDE UDMA 33 and 2x UWSCSI Cheethaa 9 + 4,5 Gb 10.000 rpm
(controller SCSI Adaptec AHA 2940 UW)
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------|
| NOTE: all the HDD's are FAT 16 multi-partitioned at 2Gb ...so they are|
| good for both Win'95 and NT r/w
|
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------|
-CD-ROM : EIDE 24x
-CD-RW: YAMAHA EIDE 2x4x6x (firmware 1.0g)
-Graphic board: Matrox Millenium II G200 AGP 1.0 8Mb
-DigitalVideo and NLE Board: MiroVideo DC30plus
-HD audio recorder: Eventide LAYLA (running only under Win'95)
-Audio Board: Creative SB AWE 64 Gold
The actual O/S is Win '95 OSR2 with USB support (the 'C' release)
This config work fine with all the app's.... but under Win'95
I can't use the 2xPII enanchement.... so... I need to install
WinNT 4.0 Workstation
Please..... help!!!.... heelllpp!!! HEEELLLLLPPPPPP!!!!
TNX in adv. and bye!

The problem with no-named stuff is that it could be bad in some way and it's difficult to fix or get support. I would especially be wary of no name multiprocessor stuff. It's a buyer beware thing. Try these things: Try installing with less memory ie. 128M. If the BIOS has an option for MPS 1.4 support enable it. Remove the SCSI cards and all other cards (bare bone system) Failing that I'd take the system back to your vendor and have them try to get NT to install. That way they can decide if they need to replace the board or not. cheers.
