My reply is probably totally useless, but I don't want you to think you're
alone with that.

I used to have a DX2 66Mhz and I had the SAME thing happen to me...
ebios and vshare wouldn't successfully start.
Well, now I have a P100 and I checked that particular thing right-a-way...
well, needless to say that ebios and vshare don't load on that new
one either. It seems to be the default...
