Have you got the correct Chipset drivers for your motherboard installed
properly, if you don't you may have the problems you are experiencing. The
first edition on win98 does not have the same range of device support as the
second edition so the updated drivers either on your mobo CD or from Asus
for that mobo. You get these from their support site, do a search on the
net.
