Is it possible to use set up the internet on a Windows 95 computer so that it can use the internet without having a modem through the use of Internet Connection Sharing. I know Windows 98 has this feature, but I do not know if Windows 95 does. The OS on the computer with the direct connection to the internet is Windows 2000 Professional.

Since 2000 does, you only need to enable ICS on the Windows 2000 box, and set up your 95 box as a DHCP client. Frank GoBell, MCSE+Internet

====================
Windows 95 does not support Internet Connection Sharing
Consider upgrading, if you absolutely need the feature.

You need the feature on the computer with the modem. None of the other computers sharing the connection on the network need it, or use it if they have it. > The OS on the computer with the direct connection to the > internet is Windows 2000 Professional. That's exactly the configuration I have here: a two-computer network with a Windows 2000 Professional computer with a modem, using ICS to share a connection with a computer running Windows 95A. -- Ken Blake Please reply to the newsgroup

I use a free program called Proxy to share my internet connection. It is a small program available from www.analogx.com, and will run on win95. The software only needs to run on the machine with the internet connection, the other machines only need to have the proxy server address set in internet options. The URL for info and download is http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/proxy.htm -- merlin112@charter.net http://webpages.charter.net/merlin112/ Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.
