help with IDE controllers

Hi - Can anyone help me?

I have a P200 running Win 95 with an Award Bios.
In my efforts to prepare for the installation of a 2nd Hard Drive I have
managed to disable all the function of my Dual PCI IDE controller.

I have had to install DOS drivers to get my CD-ROM back working.

In device manager both primary and secondary IDE controllers show but with
yellow error balls on them. The Dual controller is set to run both primary
and secondary channells, interrupts are 14 and 15 and as far as I can tell
they always were.

I have tried to re-install the driver but the problem does not go away.
Although my CD-ROM is now working Windows setup will not run (some crap
about anti-virus software I do not have) so I can't even re-install from
scratch.
To add insult to injury my C Drive is now claiming to have a compatibility
issue that is slowing it down. I imagine this is connected with my
installing MSCDEX etc to get the CD rom running.

HELP!!!!!!!!!
