Actually parts of the bible were written by women. The King James version - written by men, mostly not Jewish guys - altered considerably the role of women in history and some historians claim that this (logically) had to do with the need at the time for maintaining the social order. Its various thees and thous were deliberate attempts to make the book sound loftier and more accurate by using outmoded language, to give it a more ancient feel rather than read as intended. In other words, the King James version - in fact every version that I know of (which is quite a few, but probably not a lot) - are insanely altered. Essentially, it's a badly maintained guidebook for a poorly mismanaged franchise. It's a big part of an adult extension to the no-girls-allowed clubhouse sign. The other half ounce of sense says that space aliens exist, but their existence has not been established other than by eyewitness accounts (poor evidence in the science biz) and by conjecture based on the statistical argument that (a few hundred billion stars/galaxy) x (billions of galaxies) = (a whole lot of places for intelligent life to not exist except on one planet belonging to one sun). The statisical argument is the basis for things like SETI and hope for contact. Hoping for contact causes people to turn to religion and to want to know if anyone is out there. Walking around most of this planet and talking to its inhabitants makes one want to post to AAV for the same reason. Sadly, it's often no better than going to church or walking the planets - few chances for anyone there.
