Your "theory" seems to consist of an old assertion (that the asteroid belt may have been a planet), some unteneable nonsense (torn apart by tidal forces, maybe; exploded? Ridiculous.) and a lot of missing pieces (like, with all of space to expand into, and the gravitational fields of the other planets, why would any debris reach here? Where's the evidence of the multiple *recent* cratering? What did it selectively kill dinosaurs and not other life forms? Etc...) On the other hand, it's of a very high quality for this particular forum. : This theory also explains why the earth has such a over size satellite and : why the super continent Pangea broke into seven smaller continents that are : now drifting around the globe. How does it explain that? : Check the mass of the belt and moon, I think you will find there is a : enough dirt floating around out there to equal a good size terrestrial : planet. Why "terrestrial"? There's plenty of mass without the moon. Your theory would also have a hard time explaining why the moon is so old, and so round. --mike
