Peter you bring up several points I would like to respond to. I would look at the problem not being a corrupted Bible--historical research has shown it has changed very little--but corrupt people who don't want to adhere to the moral/ethical demands in the Bible but want instead a self-centered lifestyle with no accountability to God for the choices they make. There are so-called Christians who fit in this category--a form of false advertising--wearing the name Christian but not living a godly life. It is no wonder you gave up on organized religion because much of it is dead, traditional, and out of touch with real life. There are however genuine Christians who have a personal relationship with a living God who "talk the talk, and walk the walk"--ie live out the faith they talk about--fellowships made up of genuine Christians are far different from the deadly human-based traditional religion.
