S&F closed their doors in May this year. Try and get yourself a Teac if you can. The TDK drives are supposed to be good, too. > > My system: > > Win2k > Abit BX6 Rev. 1 > PIII 550Mhz > 256 Mb ram > Smart and Friendly CD SpeedWriter Plus (JVC RW-X4080) What CD media are you using? What errors are you getting when you try to burn a CD? What CDR software are you using? > > Any help appreciated > > Zoti > > -- Phil. http://www.philpem.f9.co.uk/ philpem@bigfoot.com

If it no longer writes at all, then the most likely cause is hardware failure. Even if it is in warranty from a bankrupt company, you will have to pay for repairs. Cost of such repair is usually greater than the value of the unit. It seems that you now have an extra reader. Mike -- mrichter@cpl.net http://www.mrichter.com
