Here's a real newbie question I guess a guru here may be able to help.

I am loading win95 from cd rom and thought I had a startup disk that would
allow this . BUT NO!!!

I forgot i need to load the cd drive drivers so I copied MSCDEX.exe from a
Win98 machine and added it to the start up disk.(the disk is one made with
the add/remove programs - startup disk - so it must be fairly generic)

I then had to edit config.sys and autoexec.bat but i know mscdex goes in th
autoexec.bat file but I am unsure of the model of the cd drive.

Is mscdex.exe truely generic in realmode or must I find a driver
compatible??
Would this line do the deed???

LH A:\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD0001 /M:30 /L:D

can you confirm I ve thought of enough before I go back and try again
