Is there anyway for me, running a Win 98 PC at home, to connect to the Novell network at work?? I have a cable modem at home... and I know the IP addresses of a few of the workstations at work, and my context in the NDS...... I am a bit of a newbie with networking....... Please help if you can! Thanks, Rob robnyc@rcn.com

Rob, Sure it can be done. But if you can do it without your network people knowing about it, then your company has many more problems than you accessing the Novell servers. I suggest you visit with your IT folk and ask them. We have found that using a RAS server for that function is the best. Better security than PC Anywhere type solutions, etc. Tweak "Curiosity skilled the cat." Where do I start investigating RAS? Is it difficult to set up? Novell 4.11. Security issues? Any pointing in the right direction is appreciated. -Robert Tweak wrote in message <37978f02$0$226@nntp1.ba.best.com>... >We have found that using a RAS server for that function is the best. I'll tell you what we've got running (only one possible solution). Dual Pentium II 350 RAS server with NT on it. Citrix WinFrame software (you can even RAS using a WinCE device with Citrix. The best place to start is with Citrix. You can find out the hardware req from there. Just make sure that thing has the latest patches and is locked down tighter than Fort Knox. Good luck.
