Software wise, I'm clueless as far as tweaks, hardware wise is another
story. I swapped motherboards on my 1.4, basically because I wanted the RAID
controller and the DDR, the RAID actually slows the boot slightly(has to
seek drives, it's in addition to IDE's) but the DDR makes everything fly,
and from what I hear RAMBUS is better. Overall my 1.4, 256DDR, 160gig boots
XP so I can work in 8-10 seconds. If you have the opportunity I say get the
fastest RAM you can find, even in a pinch, I don't know for sure but
changing your paging file(virtual mem.) might help, perhaps someone else has
advice on that? If not, be glad, 28 seconds is a lot better than the 2-3
minutes 98 would take for me before....
