I don't recall exactly how much slack I retrieved when I converted to
FAT32, but it was a considerable amount. Consider my G: drive, a
catch-all drive...18,616 files, 2.3 G used...cluster size of 4k
instead of 32, or 64 (I don't remember what the value is for larger
than 2G)...assuming that, on average, you save half the difference in
cluster size over a large drive like that, I have saved slack space in
the order of 250-500M...NOT an insignificant amount, either from a %
viewpoint or in an absolute amount. Not as much space advantage as
compression, but...
