Tell me how can I in one step do the following command through Windows. COPY *A*.* C:\TEMP That is, copy all files with the letter A anywhere in the file name from the current directory to the temp directory? > > > Not to mention the fact that if you can't get into Windows, > > you need to know DOS to get Windows working again. > > Complete crap. > Bullshit! If Windows will not start, how do you get Windows running again? Perhaps a reinstall from the boot disk, and if that fails also? If Windows is really screwed up, you're going to have to use DOS to either FDISK &/or FORMAT, or you're going to have to use DELTREE to delete the Windows directory, or some other *DOS* option. These are *ALL* DOS commands and there is no fucking way of doing them through Windows. When you buy a new hard drive, how do you partition, through the fucking DOS prompt. You must know DOS in order to truly be able to fix all Windows problems! > > > DOS maybe old, but it's still an extremely important thing to know. > > Wrong, because that hardly ever happens, that you 'cant get into Windows' > It may hardly ever happen on a personal basis, but it happens all of the time in the real world. This is part of the reason that Windows is such a large piece of shit. Also, you still need to know DOS to partition a drive, correct. > > > I had someone that wanted to come work for me, > > the first thing I did was give him a book on DOS. > > Your problem. No, it's not a problem at all, it's an extremely good way to go. This argument is practically over, it's obvious I'm the last one to realize what a waste of time it is arguing with you.
