(I being my cdrom drive.) I think its best to move to Win98 or Win95 with FAT32 so you can have just one partition on that drive, for just the reason thats bitten you. Now might well be a good time to do that. > Well here is what happened. > Had adobe Pagemaker V.65 and Photo Shop loaded > on C drive. Basically that sort of install is inevitably much less thoroughly debugged because far less do it that way, so its more likely to bite. > The first thing I did was delete it out of C drive. The best approach in that situation is to get a Win98 startup floppy from somewhere and use it just so you can see the cdrom drive. Still reinstall Win95, just using the Win98 floppy to see the drive. I can email one to you if you want. > but then again maybe this isn't the route to take. Yeah, I'd personally take the opportunity to move to Win98 and clean the entire mess up that way with a single partition on the drive. You can backup what you care about from safe mode before doing that. > Maybe it is something with the shared files or the quick time. Yeap. You may find that you can use the step by step mode thats in the same menu you select safe mode from to see whats falling flat on its face and just get rid of that. You could try uninstalling quicktime too, that might be enough. > Remeber I said don't delete the shared files and I did say > delete the exsisting version of quick time is it shared or what? Most likely just a bug in the replacement of quicktime in that particular config. > I know i should have left everything in C drive and left well enough alone. Yeah, and I'd move to a 12GB C drive now if it was me.
