 Microsoft profit up 11 percent

Microsoft beat its forecast and analyst expectations with a profit of $2.9 
billion,
up 11 percent from the previous year. Sales in the quarter, the first in the
company's fiscal year, reached $9.19 billion, up 12 percent.
