Guys, I would really appreciate your help with this, because I have been
pulling my hair out trying to work out this problem.
Here is a diagram of our setup:

                192.9.201.x subnet
192.9.200.x subnet

win95 clients
     BIGSQL SQL2
INFBDC VADER cs4 cs2
  (W2K DC) (NT4 DC) (W2K DC, was NT4
DC, (W2K DC)
DNS Server Wins Server upgraded to W2K DC,
DHCP server

first W2K DC on the system)

Wins Server
--------|------------------|-------------|------|-----------|
|----------------------|------------------|-------------------|----------|--
----
                                          Node1 Node2 ROUTER
                                                NT4 boxes

INFBDC - was a NT4 DC and upgraded to W2K DC - the first W2K DC on the
system.
BIGSQL and SQL2 BOTH validate logons on the 201.x segment.

DHCP clients on the 200.x segment have:
DNS Server = bigsql
WIns Server = infbdc, sql2

Clients on the 201 segment have static IPs, and have IPs outside the DHCP
scope.
The 201 clients have no trouble logging on and finding a domain controller.
Only the 200 clients do if infbdc goes down.

When INFBDC is online, it validates logons for the 200.x segment.
When INFBDC is down, VADER does not validate logons, the win95 clients
cannot logon.

When I try and replicate the active directory from Bigsql for example to
vader, I get the message:
"RPC server unavailable". Not sure what this means.

The roles are:

BIGSQL - RID master, PDC emulator, Infrastructure master, no global catalog.
Vader - contains the global catalog (why cant it then validate win95
clients. And, if I need the PDC emulator on this machine, then what hpappens
to the 201 segment?)
Bigsql, Infbdc do NOT have a global catalog, and yet validate logons. I cant
work this out!!!!

Is there anything wrong with the above? I would so much appreciate your
help. (My boss is giving me a hard time about it).

Thanking you so much in advance:

Simon
