Hi guys, Just wondering if you know of any utility that will tell you what domain controller validated a users logon from a win95/98 box. I know in NT you can use Windows Diagnostics. Is there and equivalent tool for win95/98 machines - some 3rd party software or is there anything on the resource kit for windows 98? Thanks simieh@bigpond.com

If you run logon scripts, the script will say at which DC it was run. Alen, pardon my ignorance, what would you need to put in a logon script to let you know what DC validated the logon? Thanks. Because depending on different conditions in the network, in Win NT any BDC or the PDC could validate a user. In fact, it is quite typical a closely located BDC to actually authenticate a user. Grab the path of the Z: drive during the Win95/98 login script. The path will be \\AuthenticatingDC\netlogon. -- Mike Ober. If logon scripts are replicated, it wouldn't help to put DC names in it. Michael
