Job Description:

A subcontractor is needed to provide system administration 
services which include managing multiple UNIX servers, 
troubleshooting complex system problems, installing and 
configuring new servers, and handling connectivity issues. 
The position requires working with a team to coordinate the 
operational support and implementation activities for the 
local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) 
services. This individual will work to establish and 
maintain DoD security and integrity standards and controls. 
Researching, analyzing, and recommending new operational 
support technologies, tools, and techniques is also 
required. It is expected the individual will coach others 
on the application of new operational support technologies. 
The position requires reviewing distributed computing and 
network designs to select appropriate operational support 
strategies and ensure efficient use of resources. 
Conducting system support design and performance reviews as 
well as identifying, developing, and updating operational 
support standards and procedures are part of the position. 

Qualifications:

Skills desired include Thorough understanding of SOLARIS OS 
preferred.Networking experience. NIS/NIS + experience, 
Experience/Knowledge in Managing disks, disk structures, 
performing backups, and tape management systems. Will need 
to occasionally lift and move equipment. Must have strong 
communication skills and work as part of a team. Experience 
following local operating procedures and standards. 
Experience working with hardware (swap cards, disks, etc.). 
Experienced building and configuring servers.
