Years ago I created a program using dbase (not dbase3+). I compiled the
program using Clipper (4/86). I have neither the time nor desire to
recreate the program in Access . I need to run a windows application while
my dos based program is running. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have a look at Xbase++ ( http://www.alaska-software.com ).

You can easy create a Hybrid-Application from you Cl*pper Code,
which looks like your DOS Application but has a "Presentation Space"
where you can use Windows-Parts ( e.g. Dialog-Box, Msb-Box etc.) on it.
You can also use Windows-Printer if you convert you "Text-Base" into
"Windows-Gui-Mode" and use a FAX if you have a Windows-Fax-Driver.
There are a lot of 3-Party Products, like "TopDown" .or. "Express", which
can help you to "learn" Xbase++ and to convert your Cl*pper-Code into
Windows and let you use the biggest Toolbox you can get : M$-Windows.
Using DllCall you can do everything what M$-Windows offers you, e.g send
Email throught Outlook Express, Playing Wave/MP3 or AVI Files, using
Twain for Scanner etc ...

Xbase++ v1.8x is 99,98% compatible to Cl*pper, but it is much "exact" than
Cl*pper, so most of the "Errors" which Xbase++ seem to make is only while
Cl*pper do not "shout about", but if you correct your Cl*pper Code to
Xbase++
(without Windows-Parts) it will 100% perfect running with Cl*pper.

Also you have used Cl*pper for a long Time, when starting Xbase++ you will
feel like a "Newbie" but the is a Xbase++ Newgroup ( locate on Alaskas
Server)
which can help you to migrate into Windows.

see you in the Xbase++ World
