Hello, I know the Sysops will be preying on my right now to buy there
products but I want an Honest opinion from the users themselves(and the
developers, Programmers, Analysts ETC) What is the best Multii user data
base for a system that needs Current Up-to date information all the time,
which is backwardly compatible with the DBASE III Format, Can output reports
quickly and relatively easily, and has Password Protection Capabilities. I
was thinking SQL, But I would like to know the Best Version, and
manufacturer.

The system is Used for end of season reports, Invoices, Data Lookup on
ordering, and supply status, for a single Printing Firm. They have about 4
Users who access this information.

Thank You for your help, jonathan

With only four users I would suggest that Paradox tables would be more than
capable. I have a number of applications that use Paradox tables running up
to 12 concurrent users. With correct network setup and table maintenance
Paradox is excellent in this role.

I use the Borland Database Engine which seems to receive a lot of bad press
but I do not have any problems.

Paradox is also compatible with dBase.
