Dear Sirs!

I'm running OS/2 machine with Btrieve requester 6.10 and Windows NT4
machine
running Btrieve as well. Both are connected to Novell server running
Btrieve 6.10 NLM.

When I run btrieve app on NT machine whether 16 bit or 32 bit (ver 6.15) it
locks the
file I need to open from OS/2 machine. When I run the same app from NT
machine and
16-bit windows app from OS/2 machine (in WINOS/2 session) everything is ok.
The only operation I do is "Open file (code - 0)" on both machines. I open
file with normal attribute (cnumkey == 0).

Any advise will be highly appreciated

These symptoms would be consistent with your 
(accidentally) running the Btrieve client engine 
(not just the requester) on the OS/2 machine.  The 
client engines try to open the file in a sharing 
mode, but the NLM server Btrieve opens files in 
Deny Write mode.  To test if this is the case, 
unload Btrieve.nlm then try opening the file from 
your OS/2 machine -- if the file is opened 
successfully, then OS/2 machine is using the client 
engine.

Your problem is that you are running local-mode Btrieve on Windows NT
(you need to upgrade your netware server to 6.15 to use NT requester)
and are then trying to open the file from server-based nlm via OS/2
requester. While the file format is the same, both of these (NLM and
NT Btrieve) need exclusive access to the file in your setup.
