OTOH (3 hands?) In the latest UK "Computer Shopper" for May, the USR
model was the only modem of 16 makes tested to fail on every test in
their review of v34+ modems! To quote the review:- "Despite connecting
at 33600cps with full error correction, the Sportster Flash wouldn't
transfer information to any other modem. All the usual checks (e.g
parity, stop bits, repeated connections and so on) were made to no avail"!
Ok, I suppose they were unlucky, but there seem to be more unlucky USR
owners in these news groups than any other make.
