Called Proxy Router, it can connect, simultaneously, an unlimited number of users to the Internet using a single dial-up line and an ordinary 28.8Kbps or higher modem, said Mr. Peter Lim, area manager of Proteon. However, the initial investment for a Proxy Router is high. It costs around US$1800. According to Mr. Lim, the Proxy Router will be available from this month. Initial demos to users here(Singapore) and in Malaysia have met with favorable response. Demos of 15 users simultaneously connected to the Internet via this device and a dial-up line went smoothly. The Proxy Router can be installed in any Ethernet network and it is network operating system independent. _____________________________________________________________________ however, maybe its cost might scare you. because it can connect unlimited no. of users, where you only have 3, i don't think it's suitable for you to try this gizmo. maybe networking them is a better idea. cktat@mbox2.singnet.com.sg
