Recently I bought an internal E-Tech bullet modem with the Rockwell
K56flex chip (E-Tech PC56RVP).
It serves well for my DUN-connection (although 33k6 untill ISP
upgrades). I can also fax with Outlook.

However I want to use software with voicemail facilities so that I can
receive voicemail as well as faxes.

Therefor I tried Winfax Pro 8.03 trial version.
Looks great. Specs are promising.

Each time when starting my PC the Winfax controller starts and gives
the following error message: "Fax/Modem Alert. TAPI modem is not
accessible. Check your modem installation"

Have others encountered this problem?

Somebody has a clue on how to solve the confict?

Marcel

Something else is getting started (before WinFax) that is accessing the
modem. You have to find out what it is and prevent it from starting if
you want to run WinFax automatically. This is a known problem (one of
many) with WinFax.
