G'day mates, I'm just wondering if there is a convenient (and free) program for extracting at least small amounts of text from a graphics file. IrfanView can export to a wide range of formats, so that may give some idea of available options that could be used (e.g. BMP, JPG, GIF... ). Indeed, I guess at a basic level it would only need to extract the text from the screen display, wouldn't it? Perhaps that's really the only way it could work? Of course, the text to be "translated" would be selected on screen by the operator, rather than hoping the program could work on the whole damn image! Any suggestions?
