I have an IBM Aptiva 2171-585. I just purchased and installed a new Creative Labs 3D Blaster Riva TNT2 Ultra AGP. I am not getting hardware acceleration, only software. In the booklet that came with the card it said if this happens go into the CMOS and change the AGP aperture size to 8mb or more. Well I went into my BIOS(which is the same as the CMOS, right?) and there is nowhere to adjust this setting. Is there somewhere else to adjust this setting? Will this even work? What should I adjust the AGP aperture size to? The Booklet says 8mb or more, kind of vauge. Is there anything else I could try? Any help is greatly appreciated! Jason

I have a PCI V2 and an AGP ATI Rage II+. I only have 32 Meg RAM in my system and I have the AGP aperture to 64 Meg. It doesn't seem to matter what you set it to as long as you set it..... But creative labs says to set the agp aperture to at least 8mb. What would you suggest, bring the card back? creamBoy <none@none.net> wrote in message news:387BFB0B.6BCB4038@none.net... > > :)) > > The CMOS settings are same for all mobos, all AGP cards (except S3) - > 1. I don't know... even without AGP texturing it should still give you some sort of hardware acceleration... are there any conflicts? What was your previous card? Have you asked IBM? Are you sure you aren't using your V2? In article <2J5f4.51373$7S.101183@news20.bellglobal.com>, James Macarthur <james.macarthur2@sympatico.ca> writes >I have a PCI V2 and an AGP ATI Rage II+.
