Old Asus TX97-E hangs up

Hi All!,
I've decided to reuse my old Asus TX97-E with Cyrix 300, 2x64SDRAM,
Quantum Fireball 4.3Gb and LS-120. I had this set working OK but after 2
upgrades I put all new parts into one box and older parts (listed as
above) into a second box to try to rebuid the original box.
Unfortunatelly the TX97-E BIOS 0108e runs through the RAM test and lists
HDD and Ls120 and then hangs up. Would this be a problem with I/Os or
the BIOS?
I've reset the BIOS to its defaults but to no avail. In this situation I
could not even flash the BIOS as my LS-120 is recognised but not
initiated.
Any clues?

do you see Cyrix Mii processors in the list of supported CPUs?
Right...

I havent changed my original settings and this 300 Cyrix runs 4x66=~266

And your point is??
That page doesn't list an MII-333 or a K6-400 as being supported either
and I've run both in a TX97E without problem. In fact it's been running
with the K6-400 for over a year now.

Motherboard turnover would be very high indeed if we believed everthing
that was written on the manufacturer's site.

that fixes it you may have to reconsider your options, ie- running it
slower, replacing the CPU with a K6-400 (will run at 2x66 = 6x66), or
changing either the board or whichever drive is not playing the game.

You need to go right back to basics and see what happens
with just the video card and hard drive. If it boots like that,
most likely some problem with useing the LS120 etc.

If it wont even boot with just a basic simple video card and hard drive,
its gotta be some basic config problem of the motherboard or its died.

You've just got to go thru it systematically from the minimum config.
