Does anyone know how to force AGP 2x? I reinstalled M$ Windoze '95 B (onto a completely blank drive) on my comp and installed the Diamond Stealth III S540 Xtreme drives then the VIA 4 in 1 drivers (4.19). SiSoft Sandra reports the AGP to be only 1x, not 2x like it reported before reinstall. I have noticed a drop in perf. BTW I have tried reinstalling/uninstalling all drivers lots (AGP in both turbo + normal mode) and using S3 tweak. The system was (suprisingly) completely stable before reinstall with all high perf. features enabled: TMC AI5VG+ mobo (VIA MVP3 supporting AGP 2x) Diamond Stealth III S540 Xtreme (great price/perf. supporting up to AGP 4x)

You could do it by manually editing the registry - not as nasty as it sounds. Goto c:\windows\regedit.exe And then browse to HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG \ DISPLAY \ SETTINGS Then change the 'AGP' string to '2X' by double clicking on it. You might want to back up the original first. If this sounds hard, email me and I'll send you a file which will do it automatically. Gabriel
