After a long and arduous battle for stability I have come to the
conclusion that there is some wacko problem with the chipsets above
playing nicely. I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on my
problem and/or conclusion!! Here is my setup:
Nothing is overclocked
DFI AK76-SN (AMD 761 and VIA 686B)
1.4 Thunderbird
2 sticks of Unregistered 128meg 266 DDR DIMMS
Also tried 1 stick of 256meg 266 DDR too
SBlaster Live! Value
Geforce2 GTS
Win ME (tried Win 98 1st ED and SE too)

I am at the point were I can hammer my system with both DIMMS (256meg)
installed via the SiSandra burn in wizard. 24hours of all tests no
problem. As soon as I play Quake3 or any other 3d game it will crash.
If I just have one DIMM installed but ONLY IN DIMM slot 2 everything
is stable.

Anytime DIMM 1 slot is populated with RAM it will crash but only in 3d
games! Otherwise is is rock solid!

I am happy with the board and I am waiting for the vendor to respond
but does anyone know anything!?
Thanks in advance!

Well, I have an Abit KG7 board, and my board is picky about how I place ram.
I need to put ram in slot # 1 and 2 and if it's unbuffered, only 2 DIMMs. If
I put any ram in #3 or 4, it won't work. I suppose my advice is to try
reversing the order the ram is placed.

I assume you tried each stick of ram in #2, as you describe, separately?
