My blue LED just died.......

How long do these things last?

My computer has a black case with four clips at the top a silver
front panel and 4 drive bays up top. In the front are two LED
indicators one red, an almost laser red too I might add it's very
bright. The other one is or was blue but it just died....

It's been dead for about two weeks now just wondering if blue
LED's have a shorter life then traditional red ones?

What was the current you had it running?

Well we live in Australia here so it's 220v....

What did you mean by current?

Australia is 240V

What circuit or other information do you have?

All LED's should have a similar life span, you should be able to find a new
one for probably 4$(au) and put it in yourself if you have a soildering iron

LEDs rarely die - check the connection to the motherboard.

Jaycar/Dick Smith sell LEDs in a variety of colours starting from about 25 cents.

Well the red LED goes to the connector on the board
via a 330 ohm resister. The same set up for the blue one
except that the blue one is supposed to be the power
indicator....

Well If it was me I'd just replace the LED and be done with it
as the cost of LED's is so small you can get about 20 for
$3.00 US. As for one color lasting longer than the next I have never
heard of such a thing. My occupation is a electronics repair tech
so if the LED is not lighting up the it is eather shorted or the
conection to the LED is Open some where in the circuit.
