This is key: If you have the Cyrix P166+ CPU, the 133 MHz speed is normal. If you RECENTLY purchased this, what does your DEALER have to say about it? If there'e a problem, get it fixed NOW, don't poke around newsgroups. If you've been "misled", that's a whole other can of worms. It would be wrong to install "X", sell it for the cost of "Y", and claim that it is "Y". It is possible to "overclock" or "speed margin" a CPU. In other words, install a 133, but set the jumpers on the motherboard to 166. There are lots of successes and failures with this technique. My opinion on the subject, as far as the typical user might be concerned, is DON'T unless it's a spare PC and/or your very knowledgable and methodical. If a dealer sells you one thing, then installs something but through the magic of non-standard setup and jumpers manages to "fool" both the machine AND YOU, then that is dishonest and should not be tolerated. (I'll hold 'em, you kick 'em.) Check your startup screen and your contract very carefully.
