Greetings, I'm trying to help a friend who is looking for a PCMCIA to USB & 1394 combo card. I know that iogear has a combo card which is due out in late February (GUF202), but would prefer something available now if possible. Background: Friend's laptop has only 1 PCMCIA slot, which currently has a USB (only) card in it. A friend would like to use her laptop to capture from a digital (1394 equipped) camcorder to an existing external USB hard drive. Her laptop's internal drive is too small for the captures, and she also uses the external (USB) hard drive on a desktop computer - which also has only USB. My preferred (best) course of action would be to find a PCMCIA USB & 1394 combo card though, and I am out of places to look. My backup plan is to buy a Firewire & USB enclosure, transfer the drive to it, and purchase a 1394 only PCMCIA card. If anyone knows of an alternate (to the iogear's) PCMCIA card, I would certainly welcome any pointers. And if you can recommend a brand of inexpensive USB & Firewire drive enclosures, that would also be nice to know. I appreciate your time in reading this and considering my delimia. Thank you - Don
