help !!

After having removed and refitted the same system (MB, graphiccard, HD,
etc...)
I can no longer make my system reboot !!
I got 32 mb of sdram, and when memory checking in bios, it only counts up to
8mb or sometimes none(then I have to push a little at it, the Ram that is
:-)...)
I tried to fit the ram in other slots....but then it wouldn't boot up at
all....it only starts when fitted in sock 1....!

Please come with ANY suggestions....even the most weirdest that you don't
even yourself could think of, as being a problem......(as I have fiddled
with almost everything available !!

400mhz AMD k6-2
Unknown MB (K6VB+) !??
Quantum HD 3,2gb
S3trio 4mb aqp
(my parents system...only used to play hearts, minelayer etc...!) in case
you were wondering ! :-))
