Traxdata CDRW 2260 not auto-detected by win98

I have a Traxdata 2260 Plus CDRW but windows doesn't detect it as new
hardware when it boots. If i goto 'Add New Hardware' it will find it and i
will be able to use it fine, but when i re-start my machine it will
disappear and i will have to go and find it again before i can use it.

My drive was bought surplus and didn't come with any drivers. I downloaded
WinOnCD which said it came with drivers for this drive. It didn't work. I
then downloaded Nero and it does work but i have to search for my drive
every time i start windows and i have to select it in Nero too.

The drive is usually detected as 'Cd-Rom drive' and sometimes as 'Traxdata
2260+ CDRW' and i have tried using the HP7000 CDRW drivers which are
supposed to be compatable.

I'm running Win98 on a Cyrix MX 233
Is there any way to force windows not to keep losing my drive?
