Unfortunately, you've had it.

CIF is a proprietary format and no one has written utilities for it.
I know of no way that you can retrieve information from it except by
burning.

I figure there's no more than a 1% chance that this would work, but
if it's important enough to you, you may want to check it out. Find
someone with a Mac and a DVD-R supported by Adaptec's s/w. There is
a faint chance that it will read the CIF and burn it to a DVD-R.

I'll take it back; 1% is too optimistic by some orders of magnitude.
Still, Adaptec's Mac s/w will write DVD-R and Adaptec is the company
with CIF.
