For some reason I'm getting almost no bass from my Audigy 4 soundcard when set up with a 5.1 speaker configuration. I have Trust 5.1 speakers. I have a set of 5.1 speakers that have both a stereo mode and a 5.1 mode. When its in 5.1 mode it uses three 3.5mm jacks from my sound card (and there is no bass) and when it's in stereo mode it only uses one (and there's lots of bass). I have selected 5.1 speaker configuration in my sound card audio setup. The surround sound aspect of the speakers seem to work perfectly. I've narrowed the problem down to two possibilities: 1) I have some sort of configuration problem with my Audigy 4. 2) I have set up my sound card wrongly (e.g. wires incorrect). Any suggestions as to what the problem is?

One of the jacks will be the Center/Bass channels. It's possible that they are backwards from what the speakers are expecting. Do your soundcard drivers allow you to swap the outputs for these? Might just be a faulty cable from the Center/Bass jack as well.

You could try enabling bass redirection on your Audigy 4. 'tis in there somewhere. You'll have to fiddle with the bass redirection frequency. You may also find that even with the bass redirection that your bass is low. They only fixed this problem on the X-Fi series with a +15 dB subwoofer boost.
