Has anyone seen this? (I'll pay!)

Hi,

I run a community website for a chatsite. We have our own Truth or Dare
room, but I want to take it one step further and add a "Spin the bottle" T
or D game on the site...

Does anyone know if there is such an applet available? i would think an
applet to which people could connect and play by actually spinning a bottle
image.. there doesn't need ot be any chatting.. we could use the chatroom
for the chatting, but just the "Spin the Bottle" for the extra effect to the
game...

If anyone knows of a way how to accomplish this then please send me an
email.. I would be very thankful.

For programmers.. I'd pay $50 for such an applet.. it only has to allow
users to connect and to be able to spin the bottle... it has to be a circle
and the names would have to be around the "board" so the bottle can actually
land on a name...

my email: syntax@hetnet.nl

Thanks!

Implementing your idea might be more complicated than
you think. The applet'd f.e. have to get the name of the
participants. Do you have something like a plaintext list
of the current participants on the server? Or could you
provide the names as tags in the webpage? Are dynamic
updates needed?

I can't imagine someone implementing your project for $50.

All I need is an applet that I can embed in a webpage.. The questions and
chatting will be done in our regular chatroom... we just need a visual
effect for a spinning bottle..

Look at the image..

http://www.volano.f2s.com/spin.jpg

is it possible to let users add themselves as players (their name maybe
stored in a flat text file??), and then have the SPIN THE BOTTLE button make
the bottle-image spin and point at a random player?

* No need for scores
* No chatting
* Must be a user-count (after 8 players the 9th can't add him/herself)

It's just to enhance the gameplay.. right now we just imagine we are
spinning a bottle *lol* and somebody just picks another chatter.. we wanna
have more of a real game...

Any ideas would be welcome... maybe it's more possible in DHTML with Layers
or even a CGI script?

Kind regards

I believe you don't need what you think you need - you will want everyone
to see the same bottle spinning at the same time, producing the same
result. That means you will need to use some server-side technology as
well.
