A language newsgroup is for discussing that language, it is not for
requesting source code that happens to be written in that language
(that it totally irrelevant to a discussion of the language). C and
C++ are used to write programs for a huge range of applications. That
doesn't make C or C++ newsgroups a suitable place to discuss those
applications unless the discussion relates to the actual coding details.
Source requests are best directed to newsgroups such as comp.sources.wanted
or to a Web search. Alternatively direct them to a newsgroup concerned
with the primary topic of the request which in this case is a BASIC
interpreter. The people who would know where BASIC interpreters are
are the people who are interested in BASIC, not the people who are
interested in C or C++. You're simply maximising your chances of contacting
the right people.
