What can I say. I am a complete and total fool. NO just kidding. But I
did find the answer.

Just in case everyone else wants to know the answer, here it is.

I was using Windows 95 long filenames with the BC++ IDE. This cause
Turbo Debugger to screw up and open the wrong *.cpp file for some weird
reason. The cpp file it opened was named almost the same as the one I
was using. So all I did was convert all the file names to dos 8.3
format, and now everything works fine.

I think what happened was that the cpp file that came up had the same dos
8.3 file name as my dos 8.3 exe file.

This is a very interesting problem don't you think?
