Hi I wonder if anyone can help me out I am currently trying to write a

program either in C or C++ (not yet decided) that will get hardware

information from my PC. I would like to be able to get the information

stored in the BIOS but if their is anywhere else that I might be able to get

this information then pls let me know. What I am really after is knowing if

either C or C++ have any inbuilt functions that I can use to get this

information and if their are not how do you recommend that I would be able

to do it ???

Thks for any help that you can give me.

Peter

Your question isn't about C or C++, its about MSDOS. Therefore I suggest you
ask in an MSDOS programming NG, for instance news:comp.os.msdos.programmer.

Why isn't this obvious? comp.lang.c++ gets hundreds of posts like this every
day, believe it or not the C++ language exists independently of MSDOS,
Windows or any other particular type of machine.

How could C or C++ have such a build-in function? Those languages are both
designed to be platform independent. Of course, some specific extension
supplied by your implementation of the language (aka the compiler dedicated
to your platform) could help you for your platform.

Specific to PC information:
