Hi. Does anybody know how i can stop the program for a few milliseconds in
a do..loop. The pascal syntax is:

delay(Time in millisends)

does anybody know the visual basic equivalent for this. If you do please
email me at graceln@lantic.net

Thankyou
Daniel

Daniel, if you're prepared to wait multiples of ~55msecs then try this.

In the General section of the Form...

Dim goflag as Boolean

'In the Form code when delay required

goflag=false
Timer1.Interval = ???
Timer1.Enabled = True
While not goflag: Doevents: Wend
Timer1.Enabled = False
'Continue here after the delay

Not the prettiest of code but might give you a start.

Regards.

Daniel,

The easiest way to stop the program for a few milliseconds is to use the
Sleep Api :

Declare Sub Sleep Lib "kernel32" Alias "Sleep" (ByVal dwMilliseconds As
Long)

Good luck

Which just proves the old Chinese proverb: If you save somebody's
life, they will hate you forever.
