The UW IMAP FAQ (http://www.washington.edu/imap/IMAP-FAQs) clearly
states that "MICROSOFT_BRAIN_DAMAGE option is removed as of imap-2002,
in favor of a better way to work around IDLE problems".

The mbx format permits multiple simultaneous read/write sessions.  For
further enlightenment, you should start by reading the relevant
documentation available at
http://www.washington.edu/imap/documentation/.
