Hi I wonder if anyone has had the following problem with the Plustek opticpro 600p, which occurs 8 out of 10 scans, the problem is this, when I instruct the scanner to prescan or scan it does its pass then gets stuck at the end of the pass and even though the belt is still going round the scanning bar just sits there clicking and refuses to return to its idle position, not only that but this also locks up my computer as I am unable to escape the process. The only way I can get out of this is to reset my computer which is a pain, now when I go to scan again after this problem the scan bar returns to its idle position, therefore I am wondering if the scanner drivers supplied with the 600p are at fault rather then the actual scanner. .The reason I say this is because I am on my second scanner, I returned the first with the same fault thinking the scanner was faulty, but with this second scanner having the same problem, I am just wondering that it may be driver problems. The only other thing I can think of is that I have a zip drive and epson stylus 400 sharing the same epp. Thanks Tony tony@setti.demon.co.uk

I have a different Plustek, an OpticPro 4831, and haven't had the problems you describe. You might try disconnecting the other devices and see if the problem persists. If it's OK, reconnect 1 of the devices, say the printer and see what gives. That way you'll narrow it down to see if it's a contention problem. Thanks for the help, but what I did was download the driver from the U.S site and this has solved the problem, so it must be that the driver on the CD is iffy.
