Primax Hand-Scanner 256

One of my friends has two problems with a Primax Hand-Scanner 256 that
he has just acquired second-hand.

1) The first problem is that there are no jumper switches anywhere on
the board which came with the scanner. This does not seem to be a
problem, but the Comm port which the scanner seems to attach itself
to, is the same as that occupied by the mouse. This screws up his
mouse in Windows!

As there are no jumpers on the board, he cannot alter this setting
physically. There is an option to do so in the software, but this
appears to have no affect! Any suggestions please?

2) The second problem is that he doesn't have a calibration sheet for
use with the scanner. This means that it won't scan very accurately!
Can somebody please point me in the right direction so that he can
obtain such a sheet.

A web site address, or e-mail address for Primax would be helpful too.

Thanks very much,

Chris Watson

directly mhunt@essex.ac.uk, or via the demon.tech.pc newsgroup as I do
not inhabit the other three groups!!! Thanks again.
