I have recently acquired a Primax 256 Greyscale scanner - OK, I know it's crap, but it was free! When the board is plugged into the IBM compatible PC, and the machine rebooted, either the mouse stops working or the modem stops working. The mouse is on COM2 and the modem is internal, on COM3, so I guess that there is an IRQ conflict with the scanner and the mouse. I have had a look for jumpers on the scanner board in case of conflict, but there are no jumpers at all. The Windows software allows a change of IRQ setting for the scanner, but ALL of these settings work, with no help to the functioning of the modem or mouse. There is no manual either unfortunately! Can someone please suggest something - other than unplugging the scanner board when I want to dial up the internet!! Cheers, Chris Watson
