This newsgroup is for image scanners that do graphics and optical character recognition on a computer, not police/fire/aircraft radio scanners. >Can anyone tell me the new freq's for Islington Police (NI) >Many thanks > > >

Apparently the original *poster* crossposted to a few groups at once. One of them being a computer image scanner group. When the person replied to him telling him the image scanner group was not a radio group, it also cross posted to all the radio group as well. Now you cross posted back to the image scanner group as well. The original poster should learn a little about proper usenet etiqutte and not cross post for exactly this reason. Hopefully this cross post answer will keep all further flames to a minimum and kill this thread in all the radio and image scanner groups the original moron er..I mean poster posted to. I think you have attitude problem. Frequencies are a large part ofthis newsgroup. The newsgroup is pretty much for ANYTHING scanner related. That's what I think ... I don't understand why you think the following are "police scanners":
alt.comp.periphs.scanner,
comp.periphs.scanners
I have both types of scanner connected to my PC. I also baffled that the
original poster asked for what must be very local information of readers
in UK, USA, Aus.

There are some "trunk-track" scanners and decoders that originate from the US, but they are as useful as chocolate teapots 'cause you need to write the channel tables for use here. And without prior knowledge of this info you can't use them to track anything. Duncan E17

Whilst following a thread long overdue for death, I discovered a posting that Jack wrote: > > Why not Optical Police scanners?? > > Like binoculars? Now THAT is the best post this thread has produced IMHO. If all the BS associated with an irrelevant thread crossposted to an inappropriate Oz ng must be endured, at least we ought to be able to larf at something clever :) Good'un, Jack ! You made following this tortuous, longwinded saga worthwhile. Thanks. Rgds, Steve -- Steve Small E-Mail : ssmall@ozemail.com.au E-Mail : ssmall@interact.net.au http://users.interact.net.au/~pssm
