I have an HP2cx and the reason CorelScan is not working for you is that you
are trying to use the square 8 bit HP supplied SCSI card.

If you do yourself a favor and buy a PCI SCSI busmastering card for about
$50.00 then you will find full page color scans take about 15 or 20 seconds.
Corel Scan will work, which I use with http://www.abbyy.ru/remote/index.htm
Fine Reader OCR of which you can download a 1 month free trial. And you can
use deskscan 2.7 with NT4 for sure. I am not sure if 2.8 or 2.9 would work or
not as 2.7 is the one suggested for NT4 and the one I use.

Not only will your scanner work but your software will be able to keep
working in background processing OCR or whatever, unlike the old card which
prevented the system from doing anything while it was scanning, and scanning
and scanning.

Below are the listings for the various HP drivers including 2.7

Good Scanning
Ken

DeskScan 2.6 for SJ in Win98 with the rectangular SCSI card (last version that
still supports non-PnP SCSI card):

DeskScan 2.8 for all but the 5p in Win98 with the PnP SCSI card:

DeskScan 2.9 for the 5p in Win98:

DeskScan 2.7 for SJ with NT 4.0:
