i'm thinking of replacing my millennium II (4 MB) with a marvel G200 TV (8 MB). i also have a canopus pure3D (6 MB). has anyone heard of any problems when using the marvel with a standalone 3D card? since the marvel supposedly has 2D/3D capabilities are there any problems when games have to figure out which card gets used for the 3D rendering? i.e. how do i make sure the canopus still gets used for all the directx/direct3D stuff? also, i just read one post from a guy who couldn't get his marvel to work with the asus p2b, which happens to be the MB i have. has there been a solution for that? are there other people on there with this same setup that have been successful with the combination? thanks, chris

I have a Marvel G200 working with a P2B with no problem. Or I did! Then I tried to install a Millenium G200 to do multi-monitor and everything went dead. It took me two weeks to figure out that the Marvel had blown, but that it had also screwed the P2b which had to be reset with a paper-clip before it would accept any graphic card! During the two weeks I swapped everything in and out, CPU, memory, other graphics cards, took all devices and other cards out, tried the devices in another system. Drove me round the bend..... -- JohnK Proprietor: www.pastimes.co.uk/transport/emporium Chris Eng wrote in message ... >i'm thinking of replacing my millennium II (4 MB) with a >marvel G200 TV (8 MB). i also have a canopus pure3D (6 MB). >has anyone heard of any problems when using the marvel with >a standalone 3D card? since the marvel supposedly has >2D/3D capabilities are there any problems when games have >to figure out which card gets used for the 3D rendering? >i.e. how do i make sure the canopus still gets used for >all the directx/direct3D stuff? > >also, i just read one post from a guy who couldn't get his >marvel to work with the asus p2b, which happens to be the >MB i have. has there been a solution for that? are there >other people on there with this same setup that have been >successful with the combination? > >thanks, >chris > > >

Nope. I'm running a Marvel-TV and a Pure3D card without problems. (However I'm about to shutdown and replace the Pure3D with a Voodoo2 ;) Most software (games) will allow you to choose the graphics device you wish to use. There is also a 3D device selector program that allows you to set the default 3D device.
